Immunization Schedules Across the Lifespan
Beyond the infant schedule, adolescents typically receive Tdap, meningococcal, and HPV vaccination series, while adults benefit from periodic Td/Tdap boosters, annual influenza vaccination, and age-based recommendations for pneumococcal and shingles vaccination as they enter older adulthood. Pregnant patients are specifically recommended to receive Tdap during each pregnancy (to passively protect the newborn against pertussis before the infant can be vaccinated) and inactivated influenza vaccine, while live vaccines are generally avoided during pregnancy.
