Privacy Policy

NightingalePrep ("we," "us," "our") operates a subscription-based NCLEX-RN exam preparation platform. This policy explains what personal information we collect through the platform, why we collect it, and what rights you have over it.

Account information: your name, email address, and a securely hashed password (we never store your actual password — only a one-way cryptographic hash of it).

Study preferences: which exam pathway you select (US NCLEX-RN or Australia's OBA pathway).

Usage and progress data: your practice-question attempts and results, lesson completion status, XP/level/streak data, and any downloads you generate.

Payment information: we do not directly store your card details. Payments are processed by Stripe, a PCI-compliant third-party payment processor; we receive and store only a customer/subscription reference ID and your subscription plan/status.

Support and review content: any message you send through our contact form, and any review you choose to submit (reviews are not published without our approval).

Automatically collected data: your IP address, browser type, and basic device information, collected for security and to keep you signed in (via an authentication cookie).

We use your information to:

— Create and maintain your account, and keep you signed in.

— Process your subscription payments and manage billing (via Stripe).

— Track your study progress and provide the practice analytics on your dashboard.

— Send you transactional emails: a welcome email, subscription confirmations, payment-failure alerts, renewal reminders, and cancellation confirmations.

— Respond to support requests you submit.

— Maintain the security and integrity of the platform, and prevent abuse.

— Comply with legal obligations.

We do not use your information for third-party advertising, and we do not sell your personal information to anyone.

We share information only with the service providers who help us run the platform, each bound by their own privacy and security obligations:

— Stripe — payment processing and billing.

— Resend — sending transactional emails on our behalf.

— Our hosting and database providers — to run the application itself.

We may also disclose information if required by law, or in connection with a merger, acquisition, or sale of business assets (with notice to you where required).

We use one essential cookie to keep you signed in between page loads. We do not currently use advertising or third-party tracking cookies. If that changes in the future (for example, adding website analytics), this policy will be updated first.

We retain your account and study data for as long as your account is active, and for a reasonable period afterward for legal, tax, and legitimate business purposes. You can request deletion of your account and personal data at any time (see "Your rights" below).

Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, or receive a copy of your personal information, and to object to certain uses of it. Australian residents have rights under the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs); US residents may have rights under applicable state privacy laws. This platform is intended for adults preparing for a professional nursing licensing exam. It is not directed at, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from, anyone under 18.

Because we serve students in both the United States and Australia, your information may be processed on servers located in a different country than where you live. We take steps to ensure any such transfer is handled consistent with applicable law.

We use industry-standard measures to protect your information, including password hashing and encrypted connections (HTTPS). No system is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

We may update this policy from time to time. We'll update the "Last updated" date above when we do, and for material changes, we'll make a reasonable effort to notify active subscribers by email.
