Planning Stations: Communication & Patient Education

Communication stations assess therapeutic technique under observation — the same principles from Psychosocial Integrity apply, but you must demonstrate them aloud: acknowledging emotion explicitly ("I can see this diagnosis is frightening"), checking understanding with teach-back rather than simply asking "Does that make sense?", and structuring education in the patient's own priority order rather than a rigid script.
