Non-Pharmacological Comfort Interventions
Non-drug comfort measures are frequently the correct first-line answer for mild-to-moderate symptoms or as an adjunct to medication: repositioning, heat/cold application (heat for chronic muscle stiffness, cold for acute injury/swelling in the first 24–48 hours), guided imagery and relaxation breathing, and distraction for procedural or mild pain.
